Privacy policy

This privacy policy explains how Onremind collects, uses and protects your information. We aim to be clear, simple and transparent.

Who we are

Onremind is a UK-based service that helps you remember important financial dates so you can avoid overpaying through forgotten renewals and expired deals.

Data controller

Onremind is operated by the founder of Onremind, based in the UK. This entity is responsible for the personal data processed via the service, including any information you provide when registering an account, contacting us, or using the service.

What information we collect

We may collect:

  • Your name (if you choose to provide it)
  • Your email address
  • Information about the reminders you set, such as provider name, category, renewal date and current price
  • Basic usage data, such as which pages you visit or which features you use

We do not store bank card numbers or full bank account details.

How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Manage your account and send you renewal reminders
  • Send you reminders you have asked for
  • Help you keep track of upcoming renewal dates
  • Improve the product based on how people use it
  • Occasionally send useful updates or tips about getting the most from Onremind

Emails and communication

If you register, we may email you about:

  • Product updates
  • New features and improvements
  • Important changes to the service
  • Occasional tips about saving money on renewals

You can unsubscribe from these emails at any time using the link in the email.

Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies so the site works correctly. These do not require consent.

For analytics, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are visited and how people move through the site, so we can keep improving it. Google Analytics is only loaded after you accept analytics cookies through the banner shown on your first visit. If you decline, no analytics script is loaded and no analytics requests are sent.

Analytics is used only to understand page usage and improve the service. We do not use analytics to collect bank account details, payment card numbers, the contents of any renewal documents you upload or paste, or any other sensitive personal information.

Your choice is stored locally in your browser under localStorage["onremind_cookie_consent"]. You can change your decision at any time by clearing site data for onremind.com in your browser settings — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit.

Deals and commission

From time to time, we may show you relevant deals that match your reminders, such as car insurance, broadband, energy or subscription offers. If you click through and switch provider, we may receive a small commission. This does not affect the price you pay. You are always free to choose any provider you like.

Legal basis for processing

We process your data on the basis of:

  • Your consent (for account registration and marketing emails)
  • Our legitimate interest in operating, maintaining, and improving a reminder service that you have chosen to use. This includes core reminder functionality, basic usage analytics, and ensuring the service runs smoothly.

How we store and protect your data

We use reputable third-party infrastructure and take reasonable steps to keep your data secure, including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and access controls. No system is completely risk-free, but we work to reduce unnecessary risk where we can.

International data transfers

Some of the third-party service providers we use may process data outside the UK. Where this happens, we ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place in line with UK GDPR requirements.

We only work with providers who maintain adequate protections for your data, regardless of where it is processed.

How long we keep your data

We keep your data only for as long as needed to provide the service and meet any legal or regulatory requirements. If you ask us to delete your account in future, we will remove your personal data where we are able to and where we are not required to keep it for legal reasons.

Children and age limitation

Onremind is not intended for children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with their information, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have rights over your data, including the right to:

  • Access a copy of your data
  • Ask us to correct inaccurate information
  • Ask us to delete your data (where possible)
  • Object to certain types of processing
  • Withdraw consent for marketing emails
  • Request restriction of processing in certain circumstances
  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) if you are unhappy with how we handle your data

If you would like to exercise any of these rights, you can contact us using the contact page. For privacy-specific requests, you can also email us at privacy@onremind.com.
